Awards:
Special awards will be given to the top 5 male and female winners overall. Awards will be given to the top 3 in each age group. Age groups are 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. Special awards will also be given to the top Clydesdales ( men200+ lbs )Athenas (women 150+ lbs) overall. Cash Awards will also be given to the Club Challenge champion, silver medalist, and bronze medalist. A special finisher's medal will be given to all finishers of the Big LakeTM Half Marathon. All participants will also receive a great multi-color Big Lake technical t-shirt.
Out of respect for all of the award winners, you must be present to receive your award. No awards will be mailed.
Cash Awards:
Cash awards will be given to the Club Challenge top 3 teams: $250/1st, $150/2nd, $100/3rd. For the Club Challenge Club that brings the most participants, that Club will win $250. For individual awards, cash awards will be provided to the top 3 male and female runners: $100/1st, $50/2nd, $25/3rd.
1. What do I get for my entry fee?
Lots and lots! A great race on an incredible course with live music, finishers medal, our famous Maple Syrup Bottle Awards, Great giveaways, complimentary post-race massage provided by Vital Kneads, B-Tag timing, great Race Announcing by the voice of NH Running, Andy Schachat, the best volunteers and staff anywhere, Post-Race Domino's Pizza, Muscle Milk and Jordan's Ice Cream Feast, Post-Race Concert and Harpoon Biergarten, Kids Zone, and an accurate, spectacular, and safe race course.
2. How much is the entry fee?
The entry fee is $55 until December 31, 2011. January 1st - April 30th the entry fee is $60. At packet pick-up May 11th and on race day May 12th entry fee will be $65 (if there are still spots available).
3. How will I receive my race packet?
Race packets will not be mailed. All packets can be picked up at Alton Central School in Alton , NH between 5pm and 7pm on Friday, May 11, or on Saturday, May 12 between 5:30 and 7:30 AM . Please note that you must have your bib number (with B-Tag attached) to race.
4. Where is the race site?
The race begins on Letter S Road in Alton, about .25 miles from Alton Central School/Packet Pick Up. The race is a Point to Point, with the finish line approximately 1.25 miles from the starting line.

6. Can I pick my race packet up on race day?
Yes, starting at 5:30 am and ending at 7:30 am on Saturday, May 12.
7. Can I register on race day?
Yes, if there are spots still available.
8. Are there any maps of the race venue?
The course map is posted on the
maps page.
9. What will the weather be like race weekend?
No guarantees on weather but the average high temperature in mid-May in Alton is 67 degrees F, the average low is 45 degrees F.
10. How do I get a refund if I cannot attend?
There are no refunds, no exceptions. NO ENTRY TRANSFERS ALLOWED.
11. Do I to be present to get my award?
Out of respect for all of the award winners, you must be present to receive your award. No awards will be mailed.

13. Where should I park?
Parking is available at Alton Central School, and along Letter S road. Parking is also available 1.5 miles from the starting line, across the street from the finish line.
14. Is the course a point to point?
Yes, the course is a point to point, with the finish line approximately 1.5 miles from the start line. Buses will be available to take athletes back to Alton Central School and Parking following the race, from 10:00am-1:00pm.
15. Is Busing available?
Busing is available for athletes from the finish line back to Alton Central School/Parking lot following the race. There is no bus available for those wishing to park at the finish line prior to the race. If you choose to park at the finish line, you will be required to walk/run to the start line, approximately 1.5 miles from the finish line.
16. Are there Dry Clothes Bags?
Yes. You will receive a goody bag at registration which may be used as a dry clothes bag, or you may use your own bag. To drop off your dry clothes bag prior to the race start, go to the Dry Clothes Drop Off right next to the starting line, at the intersection of Route 107 and Letter S Road. There will be Markers and tags available. Please write your name and Bib Number clearly on the tag, and place on your bag. Drop off your bag in the appropriate bin. The bags will be transported from the start line to the finish area for you to claim following your race. The Pick Up location will be in the Alton Community Center.
17. Will spectators be able to go out on the course to watch the race?
Not during the majority of the race. Cars will not be allowed to drive on the course during the race.
18. What accommodations are available?

19. How does chip timing work?
Each athlete will have the B-Tag timing chip that transmits data to the receiving antenna when the athlete crosses a timing mat. The B-Tag is a sticker that will be attached to your bib number.
20. Where do I wear the chip?
It will be affixed to your bib number. Just be sure to wear your bib number, and you'll be all set!
21. Where and when do I pick up my timing chip?
Your timing chip is affixed to your bib number.
22. Do I need to wear the chip for the entire race?
Yes! If you do not have the chip on when you cross the finish line you are not guaranteed a finish time. Just be sure to wear your bib number, your timing chip is affixed to it!
23. Can I keep my chip?
Yes, it's a disposable chip.
24. Can I use my own chip?
No, as we are using the B-Tag chip timing system.
25. Can I wear headphones while racing?
Yes! Please play your music at a low volume, though. We want you to be aware of your surroundings!
