Well, I'm looking at page 166 of the March issue of "Triathlete", and there is Laguna Phuket Triathlon winner Richie Cunningham crossing the finish line, small elephant alongside.
Well, there ya go, then! A small moose for Saturday's international, a large(r) moose for Sunday's half! Brilliant, eh? |

I firmly believe that moose do not really exist... all that are "seen" are animatronics built by WDW as a tourist ploy. They are like unicorns... I mean have you ever seen a moose in a zoo? Bison, cougars, lions, whales but a moose?
I'm just saying.... _________________ Terry in NH

Longspur, long time, no post..............glad to have you back.
Has Richie Cunningham ever raced an Endorfun event?

OK, I couldn't refuse the song..........but seriously, has Richie C ever competed at one of Keith's races? _________________ Keep It Real |

yes, he won Longhorn Ironman 70.3 this year
It'd be cool to have a real moose, but they're not very trainable
Terry, don't you remember walking on the beach at Mooseman this past year? There were moose tracks everywhere. Right on the Run Out. |

whoa, cool........that's sweet. I didn't know he won that event. Any possibility on getting him to a NH event. I think he's pretty local _________________ Keep It Real |

Yup I saw moosetracks alright... but I never saw what made them! LOL! Whatever it was, was scoping out the run course... it came from the area of transition right down to the run out on the beach.... _________________ Terry in NH

Terry, I have come across moose twice on bike rides. Once in Plymouth and once a little further north, I think I was in Woodstock on route 3. They do exist, and they are afraid of bikers but scared me a whole lot by not running away from me, but sort of running along side me before going off into the woods. One of them was next to a house and came across the family dog. The barking sure got it going in a hurry!
It is kind of funny how little they are seen, which is why so many think of them as more like unicorns. |

GC Tri, I was at the Endorfun race that R. Cunningham won. During the swim, he was in the lead doing a perfect freestyle stroke and had to jump over a shark. He then continued with the freestyle stroke (all without breathing).
The guy is amazing.
I can't wait for Moosey this year. I hear the roads are newly paved and are as smooth as Ron Howard's head. |

Moosey's got a TON of new stuff this year, to please one and all.
MARGARITAS ALA MOOSEY...we'll have a margarita and beer tent set up at the race site this year, with complimentary post-race margaritas and beer. Maybe even a pinata to knock around.
ATHLETE TRACKING....provided by MY ATHLETE. This is gonna be really cool.
CLAM CHOWDAHHHH....Real, honest-to-goodness New England Clam Chowda for everyone. Working on breadbowls for it....we shall see:)
(don't worry, we'll still have Jordan's Ice Cream:))
RECOVERY ZONE....we'll have a recovery zone for everyone, with gobs of fruit, recovery bars and drink, ice baths, flavorice, misting tent, and more.
NEW IMPROVED KIDZ ZONE...we'll have Nintendo WII's set up for the kids to play video games during the race, and we'll also have a movie zone with popcorn for kids, as well as Mo the Clown, hairbraiding, arts and crafts, etc.
MOOSECALF KIDS RACE....1K fun run for kids on Saturday afternoon
REPAVED RUN/BIKE COURSE...yup, more than 12 miles of the course has been repaved...
MOOSEMAN GENERAL STORE....Kids can get their Moose MOOLA from Bonk the Moose, and redeem the bucks for cool things at the Mooseman General Store.
SIMON LESSING CARBO LOAD GALA....Simon Lessing will be joining us this year, and will be speaking at the friday and Saturday carbo load dinners.
WEBCASTS...working on this. Hopefully, we can make this happen this year.
ALUMINUM FINISHERS WATERBOTTLES...Yup, REALLY nice aluminum Finisher's bottles this year....to go along with your towel and medal...AND...another VERY special finisher item. We're not going to let the cat out of the bag on this one, though.....
TEAM TAILGATING...if you've got a team, make sure you email audra@endorfunsports.com to reserve your spot for your team.
MUSIC BY THE MILE....4 bands on course, plus 5 sound systems set up, to play your favorites. Email me at keith@timbermantri.com to let me know what songs you'd like to hear as you're running....
We're not messing around this year.... |

Wow, this is fantastic.
Do you think the bull moosers will appreciate the margherita bar as much as those, including myself, just doing the Olympic distance?
I would like to offer some guesses for the additional feature at the end of the race that KJ is holding off on:
1) Mike Reilly welcoming finishers
2) Warnick has a drummer, rhythm guitarist, and bassist behind him doing covers of Aerosmith
3) A trampoline fully supported by Clif Gels
Any other guesses out there?
Seriously, this race is going to be awesome!!! |

KJ............is all this schwagg for both the Saturday and Sunday events? If so, you are DA MAN. Additionally, I have a minor request.......could you please place me in transition directly next to Macca for Timberman? That would be customer service at its best!!!!! I mean, his bike may be slightly nicer than mine, but I plan on giving him a real run for his money _________________ Keep It Real |
