|
|
Only 4 weeks to go until Mooseman!
We figured it’s time to give you an update on all things Moosey….
Lots o’ good new stuff for 2008!
First, I’m sure you’re all curious about the water temperature. It’s 51 degrees right now, which is about the same as it always is this time of the year. So, expect temps in the low 60’s come race day….
TEXT MESSAGING: Keep up to date on all race info and news. Especially race weekend, it’ll be a great way to get immediate information on the race. Info on how to register is coming shortly!!!!!!!
KIDS ZONE: For the kids, on Sunday, we’ll have hairbraiding with beads, Mo the Clown’s Balloon-a-foonery, and the Wildlife Encounters Zoo. There will also be a climbing wall onsite for everyone! Kids can also make a sign for their favorite athlete at the Inspiration Station. If the kids make their signs on Saturday at the Expo, we’ll be sure to get them out on course. The Inspiration Station will also have cowbells and foam Moose Antlers laying around for everyone…
TIMBERMAN 70.3 SLOTS AT MOOSEMAN HALF IRON: There are 25 slots available at Mooseman for the Timberman 70.3 event. Here’s how they’ll be distributed….First, we’ll see if there are more than 25 athletes who’d like them. If there are not, all athletes will receive them. If there are more than 25 athletes who’d like them, we’ll award slots to the people in the age groups represented. All slots available after that will roll down to the athletes with the top times in their respective age groups getting the slots. Slots will be given out on Sunday, following the Half Iron.
SHIPPING YOUR BIKE: MC Cycle will be receiving and building bikes. They’ll also be onsite to help with any mechanical issues you may have. To book a bike shipment, go to www.mccycleandsport.com. There are bike shipment forms available there.
FORUM: Be sure to register and check out the forum at www.moosemantriathlon.com. It’s a great resource to see what’s going on, to get advice, and more.
SPECTATOR FOOD: Great food will be available from Basic Ingredients. They’ll be providing turkey, ham, and tuna wraps and rolls, soup and veggie chili. Cookies, fruit, and beverages will also be available.
CU NA MARA POST-RACE PARTY: Bands and beer! A complimentary beer is part of your entry, so stop on by on Saturday, from 12 noon till 7:00 PM!
BULLMOOSE CHALLENGE: For those of you brave enough to participate in the Bullmoose Challenge, there will be a special award presented to the fastest combined time for the Half Iron and International.
THE GREENING OF THE MOOSE! We’re recycling, and even the porta potties will be “green”, and not use toxic chemicals. Your goody bag will be a reusable, recycled shopping bag, courtesy of Hannaford. Be sure to buy your Clif Bar Cool Tag too, as we’re trying to be a completely sustainable event.
FIND A PLACE TO STAY: On the Forum, check out YOUR PLACE OR MINE?, and post that you need a place to stay, or have a place to offer an athlete coming to the event.
GREAT GURU BIKE GIVEAWAY! Be sure to stick around for the Half Iron awards ceremony, where Guru will be giving away a fully custom carbon fiber frame to one lucky winner!!!!!
See you in a few weeks!
Rock on!

| It should also be noted that on Saturday, after the International Distance race, horse racing's Belmont Stakes will take place. Big Brown will be racing for the Triple Crown. Perhaps a little pool amongst Mooseman participants is in order!!! |

someone will have to keep me up to date! We haven't had a Triple Crown Winner in 30 years... experts are saying we'll probably never have another one since the bloodlines have been so breed to distance related running. A T Crown winner has to be capable of doing short and long with little recovery time between 3 very big races. If Big Brown wins - he will certainly go down in the racing history books as an all time great race horse. _________________ Terry in NH

| Keith: Imagine Mike Lovato winning Mooseman, Timberman, and Longhorn except, instead of running on two legs.....forget it!! See in Bristol. |

yeah, but wouldn't it be alot easier to have four legs to run with? Seems kinda unfair.... |
