To all the Timber vets,

Looking to make my race weekend a week-long family vacation, post race (doing the half).

In '01, we did a long weekend and for the life of me I can't remember where we stayed (it was on the run course a few miles from the finish, on the lake).

Anyway, can someone suggest a nice place close to the race (within 5 miles I guess), preferably on the water, with a pool, kitchen and room for 2 adults and 4 kids (ages 12 to 3)... if there's anything still available of course.

Thanks in advance!
Happy (and safe) Training!

They still have rooms - great for family with restaurant next door.

About 11 miles out but you come in the back way - very nice.

There's the Inn at Smith Cove, there's also the Greystone Motel, which is 1 mile from the race finish, right on the lake.

The Fireside Inn and Suites is nice, and right next to the beach as well....

Let me know if I can help!

Thanks Keith and Alcatraz.

Fireside (BMae's?) I think is a timeshare option I may be able to score from the in-laws. EndorFun site says it's Sold Out (???) but will try anyway this weekend (always good to save the $$$ - this way I can possibly add for Black Fly!)

If Fireside fails I will follow up with your other suggestions.

Re: Black Fly, I am trying to get "clearance Clarence" for the Tri-fecta. Keith, am I dangeroulsy close to getting shut out if I can't pull the trigger by say the Multisport Festival 3/21?

Thanks!

We'll have a booth there as well, so make sure you stop by. Free candy and schwag Very Happy
